Adult A Cappella Central is the adult branch of A Cappella Central, created to bring people together through the joy of singing.
Whether you have years of experience singing in a choir or a cappella group, haven’t sung since high school or college, or are completely new to group singing, there is a place for you here.
We believe that making music together is about so much more than learning notes. It’s about community, connection, creativity, and having something in your week that simply feels good.
Why We’re Creating Adult A Cappella Central
We started Adult A Cappella Central because we saw a need for more opportunities for adults to make music together in a way that feels welcoming, social, and accessible.
There are so many adults who love to sing but don’t necessarily have a place to do it. Some grew up singing and miss being part of an ensemble. Some have always wanted to sing but never had the opportunity. Others are simply looking for a creative outlet and a way to meet new people.
Adult A Cappella Central is a place for all of them.
The response to this new program has already been incredibly exciting, and it has reinforced something we deeply believe: people are looking for meaningful ways to connect.
More Than Singing
There is something powerful about singing with other people. You breathe together, listen to one another, create harmony, laugh, learn, and become part of something larger than yourself.
Group singing has also been associated with benefits for emotional and physical well-being, including reduced stress, improved mood, social connection, and a greater sense of belonging.
In a world where so much of our interaction happens through screens, we want to create a space for something different: real people, in a room together, making music.
Our Goals
Our goal is to build an inclusive community where adults can:
• Experience the joy of singing regularly
• Build friendships and meaningful social connections
• Feel welcomed regardless of previous musical experience
• Grow in confidence as singers and musicians
• Sing exciting contemporary a cappella music
• Experience the incredible feeling of creating harmony together
• Enjoy opportunities to perform and share music with the community
• Make space for creativity, play, and connection in their week
You do not need to consider yourself a “singer” before walking through the door. You don’t need years of training, and you don’t need to audition to belong.
Come as you are. We’ll make music from there.
What to Expect
Adult A Cappella Central will meet weekly, bringing together singing, musicianship, community, and plenty of fun.
We are currently determining our weekly rehearsal schedule based on the availability of our growing community of interested singers.
Our first Open House will take place at the end of September. It will be an opportunity to meet us, meet other singers, experience the group, sing together, and get a feel for what Adult A Cappella Central is all about.
